The Vanishing Warmth in Relationships

There are God-made relations:

Parents, children, siblings and cousins.

There are man-made relations:

Spouses, in-laws, son-in-law, daughter-in-law.
Relationships affect our lives,
In marriage, old age, childhood,
In all roles of life we live.

The relationships depend on:

*Sharing of life,
*Quantity and quality of mutual communication.
*We covet relationship with successful and rich relations.

*We can not have intimacy with unlimited number of relations;

Thus relationship with immediate family members is stronger;

Relationship with extended family members is weaker.

Marriage:

After marriage,
Parents, children, siblings are no longer part of immediate family,
They are part of extended family,
The communication gets diluted, in quantity and quality.
We communicate, when we meet each-other,
Talk of shared common memories of childhood.
After initial deluge of emotions,
The communication is cosmetic,
We bask in the warmth of good old days,
Only to part, and wait for another opportunity.

Old Age:

Relationship with old and not so successful,
Parents, siblings, other relations,
Takes a beating;
Gets diluted and slowly evaporate into nothingness.
Be it immediate family or extended family,
Man-made relation or God-made relation.
Animals do neglect and shunt out the old,
But why should we?

We are at the top, in evolution.

Children:

Relationship with children, nieces or nephews, is invariably transient,
It is like attempting to write on a water surface;
It evaporates, in no time.

They may not recollect later, all the fun we had together;
As they grow and are busy,
In pursuit of their career and prosperity.

It happens all around,
When we do not share life, due to distances,
And lack of frequent informal meetings.

Spouses:

A new universe opens up,
Whenever an Adam or an Eve,
Enters the portal of a live-in relationship or marriage.

This is the greatest glory of human civilization;
But is in grave danger of getting derailed,
With new experiments, violating God's design,
On the pretext of freedom in thoughts and action.

We can wipe out malaria and polio,
We can plan trips to Mars,
Then why we can't overcome our base emotions:

Ego clash, greed, adultery and inability to forget?

Only then, we will have harmony in family life,
With no broken homes.

This is the way out, if we have the will.

Loneliness:

Lonely souls,
Yearn for intimacy in relationships;
More so, in old age,
Or when immobile,due to health issues.

There is normally one way communication; just outgoing,
Followed by an eternal wait for incoming communication.
There is a solution!
Do not expect,
Do not sulk in dejection over disappointment,
Do not let others hurt you,
Then an individual is a winner.

What can be done?

We will serve God better,

By checking the omnipresent loneliness in the world:

In hospitals, old age homes, prisons and even within our family.
