The Vanishing Warmth in Relationships

There are God-made relations:
Parents, children, siblings and cousins.
There are man-made relations:

Spouses, in-laws, son-in-law, daughter-in-law.
Relationships affect our lives,
In marriage, old age, childhood,
In all roles of life we live.
The relationships depend on:
*Sharing of life,
*Quantity and quality of mutual communication.
*We covet relationship with successful and rich relations.
*We can not have intimacy with unlimited number of relations;
Thus relationship with immediate family members is stronger;
Relationship with extended family members is weaker.
Marriage:
After marriage,
Parents, children, siblings are no longer part of immediate family,
They are part of extended family,
The communication gets diluted, in quantity and quality.
We communicate, when we meet each-other,
Talk of shared common memories of childhood.
After initial deluge of emotions,
The communication is cosmetic,
We bask in the warmth of good old days,
Only to part, and wait for another opportunity.
Old Age:
Relationship with old and not so successful,
Parents, siblings, other relations,
Takes a beating;
Gets diluted and slowly evaporate into nothingness.
Be it immediate family or extended family,
Man-made relation or God-made relation.
Animals do neglect and shunt out the old,
But why should we?
We are at the top, in evolution.
Children:
Relationship with children, nieces or nephews, is invariably transient,
It is like attempting to write on a water surface;
It evaporates, in no time.
They may not recollect later, all the fun we had together;
As they grow and are busy,
In pursuit of their career and prosperity.
It happens all around,
When we do not share life, due to distances,
And lack of frequent informal meetings.
Spouses:
A new universe opens up,
Whenever an Adam or an Eve,
Enters the portal of a live-in relationship or marriage.
This is the greatest glory of human civilization;
But is in grave danger of getting derailed,
With new experiments, violating God's design,
On the pretext of freedom in thoughts and action.
We can wipe out malaria and polio,
We can plan trips to Mars,
Then why we can't overcome our base emotions:
Ego clash, greed, adultery and inability to forget?
Only then, we will have harmony in family life,
With no broken homes.
This is the way out, if we have the will.
Loneliness:
Lonely souls,
Yearn for intimacy in relationships;
More so, in old age,
Or when immobile, due to health issues.
There is normally one way communication; just outgoing,
Followed by an eternal wait for incoming communication.
There is a solution!
Do not expect,
Do not sulk in dejection over disappointment,
Do not let others hurt you,
Then an individual is a winner.
What can be done?
We will serve God better,
By checking the omnipresent loneliness in the world:
In hospitals, old age homes, prisons and even within our family.
God bless us,
Amen!

Scott Woods performs "Six in the Morning"

An Appeal To God

Come God come and see your mankind
See how man is misusing
That you gave him noble mind.
Love, Pity, sympathy he has forgotten
Well dressed body but heart is rotten

Playing with weapons has become fashion
Killing fellow beings is main passion
To hurt others hearts is a common thing
Greed and dishonesty are in full swing.
Men are quarreling with each other
They forget to live like brothers
World is vast but hearts aren't
In jealous and hatred, they have shrunk
Minds are polluting day by day
Everyone is straying in a wrong way
Devil does rule and humanity is dying
Seeing such scenes my heart is crying
Truth is hiding and lie rejoice
It has become the first choice
People are fighting over caste and religion
they don't obey you rather make self decision
No religion teaches any bad thing
Then why is so this human being?
In bullets and blasts there is daily increase
Innocent lives are taken nobody tries to cease
You give life to each and everything
But man snatches it and gives nothing
Some are wailing in endless sorrow
They can't hope for a better tomorrow
Some are so proud of wealth and richness
But can't share with needy whatever they possess
Some are so rude and too much arrogant
To hurt others badly, they are meant
They feel so happy when others are teased
Why children of Almighty do wrong deeds?
Some are millionaire and some are begging
Former is shining and the latter is fading
To see this world you send us all
From big, bigger, biggest to smallest, smaller, small
I pray to you from the core of heart
Truth and goodness should be on our life chart
We may live united without any difference
Please enable us to grasp universe's pure essence
Innocence should remain in our mind and face
For bad thinking there shouldn't be any space
If one is crying, the others should wipe his tears
If one is rejoicing, others should share his cheers
Universal brotherhood should be promoted by all
Make us helpful and supportive when others are going to fall
I dream all this to be come true
It is possible only when it is granted by You
Make us able to spread the message of peace
To make this universe a place unique
Where all will happy and no one sad
All will good and no one bad.

Godsent At THE 2nd Annual Gospel Poetry Jam

O Lord! O Christ!

O Lord Christ! have pity on me
I can sing songs in praise of thee
make me able to serve mankind
please purify my heart and mind
Uproot hatred and jealous
from my brain
I should say thanks to you
whatever I gain
Where there are people are fighting
give me courage to stop them
those who are led astray
convert them into beautiful gem
If someone is crying in pain
enable me to share his sorrow
make me helpful in all possible ways
to turn sad today of others into better tomorrow
If there are tears in someone's eyes
make me able to wipe those
help me to spread happiness
on their faces like a rose
Enable me to spread your message
of universal love and peace
make me successful in my mission
O Lord! I beseech! I beseech!
Have mercy on me
If I do something wrong
show me the path of virtue
fulfill my wish for which I long
O lord! make this world a heaven
where killing and bloodshed would be rare
instead of dangerous weapons
there should be human welfare
Avoid your people from committing crime
they should have fear every time
no wrong deeds, no sinful act
If anyone does, you should sharply react
Save this world, save this humanity
make it pure by removing impurity
heart should be pure, free from ill-will
no lust, no greed and no betrayal
Give food, shelter to each and everyone
remove sorrow from human lives
and fill them with fun
shower your blessings upon all of us
make us lively as life is got once
Fulfill my wishes and fulfill my dreams
enlighten my body with your spiritual beams
with your vision, improve my fate
I am very small and you are very great
With the coming of Christmas
a feeling of happiness spreads
friendly atmosphere is created
which lacks of all fears and dreads
O Lord! same congenial atmosphere
should prevail throughout the whole year
we can roam freely and fearless
from everywhere to anywhere
Fill all hearts with pity and compassion
and of wrong-doers with repentance and confession
O Lord! improve the capacity of human thinking
seeing a man as a killer of fellow beings
my heart is sinking

Give response to my prayer
I need from you too much care
between you and me
there shouldn't be any gap
in odd times, I need only your lap
O Jesus! please forgive me
as "To err is me"
which can save me
are only blessings of thee.

WHEN CUPID's ARROW MISS (VALENTINE'S DAY POEM) - MARC'S PARC

Oh These Parents!

'Relax Pop, relax mom,
Have you got nothing else to do',
Is often heard, in every house, with grown up children.
Parents nurture the children from infancy to teens,
They think of children all the time, as well wishers.
It is a God ordained duty,

Our attention comes down, as they grow,
But our concern for them never does,
We worry for their career, safety.
It is our duty to groom our children,
Integrate them in the society, as a useful productive member.
We insist on our right to:
Advise them, guide them, be informed of their activities.
May be, we are over doing it,
We can learn from animals,
How much to attend,
When to let children, live on their own.
We display our concern for children,
With our worry, through our advisory,
And our suggestions, even if unsolicited, unwelcome and unproductive;
But we, the parents are cold shouldered.
Parents can't help uttering:
'Take care, play safe'.
There is anarchy around:
Latent racist attitude in few, in developed countries;
Road rage, fundamentalism, gender inequality and sex tourism in developing countries.
The grown up children may be pragmatic, less emotional, more logical,
Prefer to take their own decisions,
For it is their life.
Children like grown ups, are conformists,
New generation likes partying, drinks,
We the parents accept it,
But can not help advising,
'Be moderate, not more than two'.
The enigmatic smile,
Conveys the message, to relax,
We still insist,
'OK, do as you like, but please do not drive afterwards,'
Another smile!
We withdraw honorably,
Pray to God:
'If an untoward incident happens,
Look after our family.'
Who are we to worry, question the happenings in the world?
Let us trust God,
Have faith in Him;
But it is easy said than done.
We do not worry deliberately,
It is a sub-conscious activity,
It happens for the loved ones.
Attachment is a double-edged weapon,
A boon, when it facilitates grooming of children,
A bane, when, it irritates grown up children.
We all realize, when we become parents.
Our children too will, when their turn comes.
The cycle continues,
History repeats itself,
Humanity will never learn its lesson,
For there is no formal training,
Humanity relies more on emotions, than on logic.
Isn't this, what an unconditional love is all about?
Now,
There is awareness among parents,
They are addressing the problem.
In Occidental societies:
Parental duty is, till child is 18,
Thereafter, a child enjoys or suffers autonomy,.
And mortgaging own house, to enjoy the fruits of own labor,
Helps parents, in a way.
Oriental parents are still in a dilemma!
Tied up with unwanted, excessive attachment.
Life goes on!
